The trouble with learning a new physical art medium is that, if you're not careful, you can really bork up something that you've put hours into already. I attempted to cast some warm light on Twilight Sparkle's face with some heavy blue shadowing, and, well, now my Twilight picture looks like a 5-year-old got at it when I wasn't around. But no, that was me, the adult artist with years of experience. I'm the one who got yellow all over her eye-whites and gave her beard stubble. It looked more natural in my head.
I should really stick to digital art.
